Ethics

The AACME was founded in part to establish the first national codification of medical ethics. The AACME Code of Medical Ethics and the AMA Journal of Ethics® collectively underscore AACME commitment to promote the art of medicine and the betterment of public health. The Code is widely recognized as the most comprehensive ethics guide for physicians. The opinions in the Code address issues and challenges confronting the medical profession and represent AACME policy. Published monthly, the Journal examines a wide range of timely perspectives and questions of ethical importance in health care. The Journal is editorially independent from AACME governance.
